The beginning

Ok so those of you that know me know I have tried any and every diet on the face of the earth. If there is a pill I have swallow it, a shake I drank it, a shot I have injected it, a program I have been on it and so on. Well a few months ago a friend of mine (a new skinny coworker) told me she had lost over 100lbs. I of course curiously asked her how. She told me about a program called Trim Care. It is a medically supervised weight loss program. I listened, considered it, and put it in the back of my mind. Well recently the thought of it resurfaced. I've recently tried to pay more attention to things as they come in to my life. So as I began to think of it I realized that maybe I should look into. Then I began to see commercials for it and thought "ok ok I will look into it". Well as some of you may or may not know I stuck knife in my leg last week. (don't panic I got stitches and a tetanus shot and all is well...this blog is not about that) Well when I went to the Urgent Care office to be seen low and behold the had a Trim Care office there as well. After I got stitched up I briefly spoke to the nurse about the program. The doctor wanted me to come back on Wednesday so he could do a follow up of my leg. I decided the universe was giving me a sharp (no pun intended) hint that maybe Trim Care was for me. So I booked myself an appointment to be seen in the Trim Care office on Wednesday since I was going back that day to have my stitches looked at. I went in and spoke to the nurse and the doctor and decided that I would do the program. (besides I decided the stab wound was a big enough hint I didn't need anymore nudges from the universe) The sad thing was on the form you fill out they ask you what other plans and pills you have tried I literally was able to check yes to everything except one...I wasn't kidding when I said I've tried them all. Before starting the program you get evaluated by the doctor including an EKG to make sure everything is functioning well. I take to medications, Phentermine and Topomax. The Phentermine I take half in the morning before I eat breakfast and the other half around noon. Phentermine is an appetite suppressant. The Topomax I take 3-4 hours before bed. Topomax is also used for seizures and migranes but was discovered to cause weight loss with short term use. Along with that:
I drink at least 80oz. of water a day (ok this is a chore for me...I do not like water).
I get no more than 20g of fat per day.
I get 60g of protein a day.
I eat smaller more frequent meals.
I take a multivitamin.
I stay between 1,000-1,600 (my personal doc prefers 1,200-1,400)-I've actually been between 1,100-1,200 so far.
I log every food I eat. (I cannot express how important this is)
I also go in once to get a shot (vitamin b6-12 and a fat burner), weigh in and have my vitals checked.

My plan is to blog at least once a week after I weigh in to update my progress. I want everyone not to worry about my calorie count I'm not starving I am just making wiser food choices. Sometimes it's actually hard for me to get in all of my calories. 3 cups of broccoli and 3oz of chicken only has 230 calories 4g fat and 34g protein...try eating it you'll find it is a lot of food.
